IMPORTANT: Please do not consume any food or drinks; brush your teeth; gargle mouthwash; smoke; or chew gum at least 1 hour before the test. This helps to prevent contamination of the saliva sample.

Travellers are expected to check on the travel advisories of their destination countries to determine their eligibility for Covid-19 saliva tests.

What To Expect

1. Check your testing window

Make sure your flight is within the next 48-72 hours from the point of testing; the testing window differs across destination countries.

2. Book an appointment

Select your preferred test date and make payment online.

3. Get tested at Nuffield Medical

Turn up for your scheduled test date and time at Nuffield Medical Orchard clinic.

4. Receive results within 24 hours

Get your results via email and SMS.

Important Notes About Your Pre-Departure COVID-19 PCR Swab Test

Testing window

Flight to China: Test must be done within 40-48 hours before your flight.
Flight to Other Countries: Test must be done within 48-72 hours before your flight.

Travellers are responsible for verifying the testing window requirements of their destination country and ensuring that the clinic met the stipulated timeline.

Do allocate adequate time to take and receive test results before departure from Singapore. For latest updates, visit the Immigration and Checkpoint Authority (ICA) website.

Required documents

Identity card (for Singapore Citizens, Permanent Residents and Long Term Pass Holders only), and passport (for all travellers)
Soft copy of booking reference showing the timing of your departure flight (if applicable)

PCR swab test procedure

The Pre-Departure COVID-19 PCR Swab Test takes approximately 15 minutes to complete. You are advised to reduce contact with other individuals before results are released.

Getting PCR swab test results

You will receive your Swab Test results within 24 hours (or 6 hours if you opted for Express).

You will receive your results memo via email within 24 hours. You are advised to keep a printed copy of this for easy reference during your travel.

*In the event that results delivery is delayed due to unforeseen circumstances, we will not be held responsible for any missed flight.

Digital test results

Nuffield Medical will provide verifiable digital COVID-19 Swab Test results to enable an easy and smooth travel process for outbound travellers.

Get your results memo via email within 24 hours, or 6 hours if you opt for the Express PCR Test.

It is possible that delays in results delivery may occur, which can lead to travellers missing their flight. In the event that results delivery is delayed due to unforeseen circumstances, we will not be held responsible for any missed flight.

Test results are available only via the memo sent to your email. Hard copy will be provided upon request.

*Please notify us if an additional Fit-To-Travel memo is required by the destination country, eg, Japan and Thailand.

If you tested positive for COVID-19

Travellers whose COVID-19 PCR Swab Test result is positive are advised to cancel their flight immediately. Thereafter, MOH will contact you to make necessary arrangements for subsequent care and management. Here's what to do next.
